Mr. Chatterjee,
NRITYA BHASKAR in Bharatnatyam, a SILVER MEDALIST in RABINDRA NRITYA, was awarded the NRITYA RATNA NATIONAL AWARD in 2022, the UDAY SHANKAR AWARD, and the KALA SHREE AWARD in 2023, as well as the MAHARSHI BHARAT BHUSHAN AWARD. Through his achievements, he has brought great honor to his gurus, Guru Sri Kahinoor Sen Barat and Smt. Mamata Shankar. He also received the ABHINAYA NRITYASEE AWARD and participated in the BISWA BANGA SAMMELAN (NABC) held in the USA and Canada as a performer and choreographer, among many other noteworthy accomplishments.
In due course, he started his own Gurukul, the ETHNIC DANCE ACADEMY, to create pillars in the arena of Indian classical dance, adding a lustrous tint to his career. Mr. Chatterjee, along with his Ethnic Dance Academy, successfully participated in many prestigious dance festivals and honorable shows, expanding the radius of his keen admirer gallery. Some of the festivals in which he and his troupe participated include the UDAY SHANKAR DANCE FEST in 2005 and 2006, the BANGLADESH Festival, the Rukminidevi Arundale Dance Festival in 2014, and the INDIAN MELA staged in NEW JERSEY. He was among the few pioneers invited to the BISWA BANGA SAMMELAN NABC of NORTH AMERICA and TORONTO/CANADA as a choreographer (closing ceremony) and a guest performer.
His participation in the TRIBE ISHWAR MUSIC and DANCE FESTIVAL, the PURI INTERNATIONAL DANCE Fest of 2019, NRITYA BHARATI 2017 - a Traveling Dance Fest, the Kolkata Festival, the MUMBAI DURGAPUJA Fest, BASANTA UTSAV of SHANTINIKETAN, and many more, stand as milestones in his remarkable and graceful journey in the world of Eastern dance. These events are followed like a trail of ambient light by his admirers and students, leading to an Abode of Dance.
